What an affiliate link is

If you click one of our links and buy something, the retailer pays us a small commission. The price you pay is exactly the same — the commission comes out of the retailer’s margin, not your pocket.

What it does and doesn’t change

It does not change what we recommend. We are not paid to feature any particular brand, and no brand can buy a place in an article or a capsule. When we say a coat washes badly or a brand runs small, that is what we found — and we will say it about brands we earn commission from, because a recommendation you cannot trust is worth nothing to either of us.

It does mean we have an interest in you buying something. You should know that, weigh it, and hold us to the standard above.

Where our information comes from

Fit and quality notes come from published brand size charts, from public customer reviews, and from what parents using Tottie tell us. Where something is our own judgment rather than a measured fact, we say so.

We are not paid by any brand to write articles, and we do not accept payment for reviews. If that ever changes, this page changes first, and any sponsored piece will be labelled as such at the top.
